welcome.

Well…Look what we have here :)

I’ve wrote this kind of as a complaining basis. I can come and complain here because i complain so much, and this way i like don’t have to explain my stories to evverryyyoonnneeee.

I have a few topics already on my list that i will blog about..including the amount of unnecessary books in my household, stereotypes, coming of age, procrastination!, phone bills, weird things you find while cleaning and Happy Feet the movie.

I made a list of them while i was PROCRASTINATING. Procrastination is the deferment or avoidance of an action or task to a later time and is often linked to perfectionism. How on earth is procrastination linked to perfectionism…no wonder why they call Wikipedia unreliable *rolls eyes*

But anyway since i’ve gotten started on procastination i may as well dedicate this blog to it :)

After some research on the topic, I learned some interesting facts about it…For example..chronic procrastination may actually be a psychological or physiological disorder??

Apparently us procrastinators are known to have a higher than normal amount of conscientouness based on the wishes of perfection in contrast to a realistic view of their potential or lack thereof.

Procrastination can be a reoccurring and debiltating DISORDER in a few people, which eventually causes the physiological and psychological risks and dysfunctions. They can actually be suffering mental health problems like depression or ADHD…that’s kinda scary if I may say so myself.

More worse cases of it cross over into internet addiction or computer addiction (guilty of both i must say). This means that the person has a need to avoid reality by surfing the web or playing games orrr looking at porn. This a new thing i’d say, and i reckon most GenY kids would be guilty of procrastionation. But actually having internet/computer addictions are considered psychiatric diagnoses. :|

Also here’s the part about procrastionation being connected to perfectionism, ‘a tendency to negatively evaluate outcomes and one’s own performance, intense fear and avoidance of one’s abilities by others, heightened social self conciousness and anxiety, reccurent low mood and workaholism’.

There’s types of procrastination as well, they aren’t like formal, but there’s academic procrastination. It’s seen in the academics most commonly because they are required to meet deadlines for assignments in an environment full of events and surprise comings which compete for time and attention. More specifically, a 1992 study showed that “52% of surveyed students indicated having a moderate to high need for help concerning procrastination” I normally procrastinate cause the work i will be doing requires me to do it all in one…or i just can’t be bothered but know im supposed to.

And ahahah there is also something known as ‘Student Syndrome’ “Student syndrome refers to the phenomenon that many students will begin to fully apply themselves to a task only just before a deadline. This leads to wasting any buffers built into individual task duration estimates.”

That’s pretty much what Wikipedia has taught me. It was very interesting as well.

And now for my talking about it. Procrastination really ruins me. Although it kills everyone, you should all know everything revolves around me, for i am ‘The Sun.’ Anywayyy, for example studying for exams is the main one, every single time i have exams, i end up in the same state…an emotional wreck, crying about how dumb i think i am and having mum reassure me I’m not and that i go to a selective school for a reason etc etc. It’s the same vicious cycle, to quote Jaynell. It’s a really painful one in fact. Mainly this year extension maths has eaten me. But as of about 2 hours ago, I will be getting a tutor :D We left our details with them and they will get back to us with a suitable tutor thats available on my days and in my location.

Overall procrastination is silly and it is related to perfection popular to my belief, and i have to do something about it, or I will become depressed or get ADHD. Or just plain mentally unstable. Uh oh…i’m scared of the mentally disabled, does that mean i’ll scare myself?!

Well…Till next time..

    Wowzas….thats damn impressive.

I mean generally when i procrastinate i can never have the gusto or motivation to write something about procrastination that long…..Is it incredibly Ironic? I think so.

    But nonetheless… damn impressive.

If only you could put your power to good use like…poetry or something else…something that might be useful.

    anyway

    Wow.
